1980 Capri 25 Motivation This was my first shorthanded boat, and one I also raced crewed with great success. I purchased her new in 1980 from Colvin Yachts in Westbrook, CT. At the time I was running Westbrook Harbor Marine with the owners son Brian. I purchased the boat not fully assembled which saved some money. This let us install the keel, rudder, and rig properly. Then we painted her black with blue arrow stripes and named her Motivation. I still have a crew shirt. What a blast she was to race and sail. We won 90% of all the races she entered, and there we a lot of races for a few years. Then I took off for a couple of months single handed with no motor. Lived on her for about 18 months. Then sold her. All of the pictures but the sailing one, are when I bought her back after she was totaled on the rocks by the person I sold her too. I purchased her from the insurance company. Took her to Newport, rebuilt her and again won 90% of all races she entered eight years later. Great boat and fun chapter in my life.
